Preview:
The Tanzania tour of Zimbabwe commenced on Monday where the visiting Tanzania team took on Mid West Rhinos at the Kwekwe Sports Club. The two teams are due to face off in six Twenty20 games over this week. A doubleheader was played on Monday where both the teams won one match apiece. The Rhinos won the first game by 16 runs defending 131/7 but lost the afternoon match by 4 runs chasing a target of 135. This tour will be Tanzania team’s preparation for the Africa sub-regional Group A qualifiers starting in the last week of April where six teams will take part.Weather Condition/Report:
The Kwekwe Sports Club is likely to be under clouds on Tuesday afternoon but no rain is expected during the match.Pitch Condition/Report:
The Kwekwe Sports Club last hosted official T20s way back in 2013. Tanzania’s tour gave a chance to Kwekwe SC to host the T20 format yet again. The first two matches of the tour played on Monday turned out to be low scoring ones. The venue usually offers big totals when it comes to professional matches. The low totals could be due to less fire-power in the batting and the surface becoming tired due to two games in a day.Average first innings score: 133 (This T20 series)
Record of chasing teams: Won – 0, Lost – 2
