IPL News 2020, MI vs CSK Match 1 Team Players List Update: After a long wait, the Indian Premier League (IPL) is all set to start in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from Saturday and fans cannot keep calm. Although the match is just a few days from the start, IPL 2020 has started a huge discussion online with the team names.

Even though the event is taking place outside the country, it has not dampened the excitement amid the discussion of the global epidemic and talked about big cricket tournaments with fans happy to watch from their homes. Chennai Super Kings will take on Mumbai Indians in the delayed tournament opener on Saturday.

What they will be missing, like other teams, is the crowd support and especially their fans who called themselves as the Yellow Army.  The players and other stakeholders are living in a biosecure bubble with no contact with the outside world as part of their measure to prevent the spread of coronavirus

IPLNews 2020 opening ceremony canceled, here's why | Cricket Schedule

IPL 2020: The much delayed Indian Premier League took place on Saturday without any customary glitz and glamor. This means that the IPL opening ceremony will not be held for the second consecutive time. The inauguration ceremony was canceled last year as the Committee of Administrators (COA) decided to donate the funds allocated to the families of CRPF personnel who lost their lives in the Pulwama terror attack.

This year the tournament will be held behind closed doors at three venues including Dubai and Sharjah. The inaugural match will be played between the Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians at Sheikh Zayed Stadium at 7:30 pm.

Also, for the first time, there will be no cheerleaders.

Yet Sourav Ganguly, Chairman of the Board of Control for Cricket in India, is expected to increase viewership for the 13th edition, with matches scheduled for India's evening primetime TV slot.

Ganguly said, "They (broadcasters) are really expecting the highest ratings of the IPL this season because they believe that if (people) don't come on the field, they are actually watching on their television sets Will to be, ”Ganguly said.

"There is positivity in everything."

Ganguly said the crowd could return to the stand later in the 53-day tournament, which would end on 10 November.

The former captain said, "Because of COVID and infection, you don't want people to be very close to each other, but very soon you will see that there will be 30 percent people in the area."

"They have tested properly and given permission to enter the area," he said. But I think it is going to happen over time. "

Rajasthan Royals batsman Robin Uthappa believes that the tournament will woo cricket lovers a year after the game was postponed and canceled.

In a video posted on the official website of the IPL, Uthappa said, "Certainly, this year is going to be really special, as we have all progressed as a human race."

"I think in this unpredictable time, we were longing for normalcy and these tournaments and games, in general, bring that feeling of normalcy back into our lives."

- Coronavirus cases -

To reduce the number of people in the field, there will be no dancing cheerleaders.

Players will be sent to and from hotels under strict BCCI Health Protection Protocol. Officials said more than 20,000 coronavirus tests would be performed.

The tournament is already under scrutiny after testing two players for coronavirus. Many top players pulled out citing personal reasons.

The IPL is the most popular domestic league in the world, but since its inception in 2008 has been battling corruption and match-fixing cases.

In 2013, two teams - Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals - were suspended for two seasons due to a spot-fixing scandal.

But with teams in the bio bubble, BCCI's anti-corruption chief Ajit Singh told AFP last month that "it will not be very difficult to control the interaction between players and others".

Despite the controversies, the IPL has attracted top foreign stars along with Australia's Pat Cummins, who was the most expensive foreign player after being bought by Kolkata Knight Riders for $ 2.17 million at auction.

The headlines will feature Indian stars including Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni and star batsman Virat Kohli, who will seek their maiden IPL title with Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Dhoni retired from international cricket last month but is one of the biggest attractions of the tournament.

IPL 2020: Covered in PPE kits, Eng-Aus players land in Dubai, Rajasthan Royals says

The 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2020) has received a major boost as England and Australian players have arrived to play in the IPL 2020.

Covered from head to toe in PPE kits, it was difficult to identify any players as soon as they landed in Dubai.

Rajasthan Royals first tweeted a picture of the players along with the pension counsel. With the arrival of players, the Royals can finally breathe easier.

Tom Curran, Steve Smith, Joffre Archer, Andrew Tye were the four cricketers who touched base in the UAE before IPL 2020. In a tweet on Thursday night, Rajasthan Royals said, "Four new arrivals. Can you guess who?"

Warner and some other players were seen wearing personal protection kits (PPE) in the wake of the COVID-19 epidemic, which has forced the BCCI to relocate the league out of India this year.

After landing in Dubai, a picture of David Warner and Pat Cummins in a full-body PPE kit is going viral on social media. 21 players from England and Australia arrived in Dubai for the IPL and will now spend 36 hours separating themselves in their hotel rooms.

The quarantine period of these players is much shorter than the 6-day period created by players going from India to the UAE, as only English and Australian teams for the IPL moved from one bio bubble of England to another.
Players will now undergo mandatory RT-PCR testing for the novel coronavirus upon their arrival.

IPL 2020: England, Australia players to undergo 36 hours quarantine instead of 6 days

All RT-PCR tests for COVID-19 and three players from Kolkata Knight Riders - Eoin Morgan, Tom Banton, and Pat Cummins - will go to Abu Dhabi in Dubai, where their team is based on 36 hours.

Only KKR and defending champions Mumbai Indians are based in Abu Dhabi while the remaining six franchises are in Dubai.

The Abu Dhabi government has so far refused to relax its 14-day quarantine regime regardless of the outcome of the Kovid-19 tests.

Night Riders along with Mumbai Indians are two franchises based in Abu Dhabi. While Mumbai Indians played no role in arriving via a chartered flight from Manchester, the Knight Riders have Eoin Morgan, Pat Cummins, and Tom Banten.

However, the Dubai government has agreed to relax the rules and those who live there will now have to undergo 36 hours of quarantine upon arrival from the United Kingdom, provided the PCR test result is negative. The rationale behind such an exemption is that players are traveling from one biofuel bubble to another.
